Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AgentMetrics website at agentmetrics.dev and the open-source software distributed through the AgentMetrics project (collectively, the "Service"), operated by AgentMetrics ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Description of the Service
AgentMetrics is an open-source AI agent observability platform. The software is released under the MIT License and is self-hosted — you run the server on your own infrastructure. The Service allows you to instrument AI agents built with Python, JavaScript, or compatible frameworks to collect and analyze metrics including cost, latency, token usage, error rates, and tool call data.
This website provides documentation, integration guides, and a changelog. We do not operate a managed cloud version of the AgentMetrics server.
3. Open-Source License
The AgentMetrics server, Python SDK, JavaScript SDK, and all associated plugins are licensed under the MIT License. The MIT License governs your use, modification, and distribution of those components. These Terms apply to your use of this website and any hosted services we may provide, not to the standalone open-source software itself.
4. API Keys and Security
API keys are generated by the AgentMetrics server you deploy. You are solely responsible for keeping those keys confidential. Keys should be stored as environment variables, not committed to source code. We are not liable for data exposure resulting from leaked API keys on your self-hosted deployment.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Ingest, transmit, or store personal data in event payloads without appropriate consent and disclosures to end users
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems
- Use the Service in a way that disrupts or degrades performance for other users
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy at agentmetrics.dev/privacy. Because AgentMetrics is self-hosted, your agent metrics data stays on your infrastructure and is not transmitted to us.
You are responsible for ensuring that any data processed by your AgentMetrics deployment complies with applicable privacy laws.
7. Intellectual Property
The AgentMetrics name, logo, and website are our proprietary property. The software is open source under the MIT License — see the repository for the full text. You may not use our name or logo to imply endorsement of a derivative product without written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED $100.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the Terms were last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
